Character Aspirations:All his life, he’d dreamed of becoming a well-known and very skilled weaver. Being searched barely after his apprenticeship began however, caused him to have to rethink his life going forward. Of course, he still possesses some ambition in regards to the weavercraft. Even if he understands he cannot work the craft full time, designing clothes and working with friends to craft them, are still a serious hobby for him, which he hopes to be able to make good trade off of in gather. He is still young in the craft however, so he often seeks advice and additional training from the weyr’s weavers. Nadakai also searches for a muse -a beautiful woman of beautiful character who inspires him, and who will one day see wear the clothing he designs. He has a single creation which is a favourite of his, that is his benchmark of quality and expectation for his muse. Unless a woman can wear that one dress perfectly, he’s decided that whoever she is, she is not meant to be his muse.

History:✣Born in Southern Boll, Nadakai grew up around the industry of the Weavercraft. His father is a talented weaver who was able to support his family well by his trade. He was so successful in fact, that he was able to support two or three women by his trade...which is why, by 488, when Nadakai was 9 turns of age, his parents divorced and went their separate ways.
Nadakai lived with his father so that his mother could start her family all over, with another man. Usually, she simply pretended that Nadakai did not exist, so he generally only sees his mother once a turn, and he has never met the half siblings he has through her second marriage.
The boy’s father on the other hand, did not remarry. Instead, he continued to At the age of ten, Nadakai began learning about the weavercraft trade from his father. His father pushed him to excel in the craft right away, but he did not start any formal schooling in it until the age of 12. On his 12th birthday, Nadakai went to live at a domicile outside the Weaver Hall. That gave his father the freedom to do as he pleased, while ensuring his child’s education. Effectively, after he’d reached the age of 12, Nadakai had no parents. His mother abandoned him and his father was too busy with his many female companions to pay any attention to him.
To his father’s credit however, Nadakai never went without anything. His father afforded him anything that he wanted. Since he didn’t spend much time with his son, he purchased complacency from him by filling his son’s life with material things or making sure that there were always girls around to be had by his son for pleasure.
To keep himself more happily preoccupied, Nadakai focused all his energy on his education in the weavercraft. He looked to his teachers for guidance more than he looked to his own parents, and his family were his classmates. Every one of them. Because of his situation at home, he learned to try to value every person that came into his life outside of it. And more specifically, because of his father’s habits, he learned to appreciate women more, who respect and value themselves.
✣The weavercraft has always been an important outlet for Nadakai, as he’s always been a highly creative person. The weavercraft also unexpectedly became his outlet for finding the good in people, the confidence in people, and help draw that out in their personalities when they are unsure of how to do so. Nadakai has found that all people possess confidence and dignity; people want to find pride in themselves and be able to be attractive in the eyes of others. However, many people are unsure of how to do express these things. Nadakai feels that what people wear gives them power. It is why highborn wear fine attire, and why soldierborn wear their own armaments. Clothing becomes a statement of a person’s character and it lends confidence so, when a person is not dressed well, they are unable to express their true strength. Nadakai wants that all people should be empowered and be able to express themselves -he believes that a simple way to begin doing that, is by paying attention to the way you dress.
✣Turn 497, at the age of 18, Nadakai was selected on Search. It was the turn after, in which he impressed in one of Thereasaith’s clutches. Throughout his first turn as a Weyrling, N’kai and his dragon’s sensitivity to others made them a target as a possible future Search team.
The turn after his graduation from the weyrling class, N’kai and his draconic counterpart began training as a Search team.
✣The closet N’kai has built into his personal weyr would make any woman jealous. He maintains a collection of his own clothing, plus a collection of women’s clothing which are all his most prized creations. In N’kai’s weyr, there are always drawing materials for charcoal sketches or ink/watercolour paintings for his clothing designs that he would one day like to see being crafted and worn by others. He keeps parchment all over his weyr in piles and piles, creating cut-outs which are the patterns for the designs he comes up with. Since he by himself does not have the time, nor the resources to fabricate every one of his ideas, he’s put together a crafting club of like-minded friends. Together, they frequent an otherwise relatively unused space given to him for use by the Headwoman. It used to be a storage room, but has become unnecessary since the things in it have been repurposed. The Headwoman allows N’kai and his friends to use the space for their own purposes as long as she has no real need for it. The space has become a sort of hide-out for them in which they meet every day in order to work on crafting projects together. And once the trade caravan or gather time comes, they do everything they can to market their styles and trade them at the best price.
Personality:✣Artistic and Creative. Has an eye for beauty.
✣Visionary; not only within his craft, but he likes to envision the greatness in others and help make that possible for them by building their courage and a vision for themselves.

✣Clairvoyant/ reads character well. Empathetic and sensitive towards others.

✣Possesses a charisma that allows him to make friends easily.
✣Frank when he speaks; very direct.
✣Likes to see himself as a prodigy when it comes to the weavercraft, though he’s still young and has a lot to learn. At least when it comes to design. Sometimes he wishes he was as good a Rider as he was a Weaver; he works hard to prove that to himself.
✣Has a photographic memory that serves him well when drawing out new patterns for clothes.
✣Hard worker/ diligent. Not the first to get his work done always, but he doesn’t slack.
✣Likes to sleep with many women. The only reason he doesn’t consider himself a player so to speak, is because he rarely shows them any interest beyond the sex itself, so there’s never the expectation of emotional attachment. For him, that keeps him off the hook and ethically is perfectly sound.
✣Good team player. Enjoys working in groups and managing group dynamics and abilities.
✣Equal opportunity lover. Bi, but is preference is women.
Alter Ego Personality: ✣The same traits as personality 1, only this is the alter ego that he takes on in order to escape too much attention as the blue-rider stereotype -usually when he’s on Search or outside of the Weyr. He believes that acting a little more socially inept makes it easier for people to open up to him if they are feeling anxious. His ‘awkwardness’ keeps them from feeling too on edge or nervous. And if he finds moments to do something clumsy he may do it just to make people laugh, if the moment is right.
✣More shy around girls. He and Kaisoth team up to get girls by him putting on an act where Kaisoth gets to be his flirty self and N’kai feigns shyness and as though he had nooothing to do with his dragon’s interest in females around him. Then N’kai makes some innocently charming move to come onto them.
✣A little nerdy and socially awkward perhaps.
✣A little more insecure than his better half.
✣Not quite as cool as his better half.
✣Possesses a little more boyish charm.
✣Not as direct as when he’s being fully himself.
Shortcomings:✣Not competitive enough to do well in the very competitive market for high end weavercraft items outside the weyr.
