[align=center]Libertas Weyr, though small, has managed to scrape out an existence and thrive in the southern refuge where it fled from Amaris.
At least, until now.
Through a deadly morning raid, Amaris has wiped Azure Hold off the map and has forced Libertas to flee once again, taking with them the remaining survivors of their home to a place far to the south, deep into the Southern Mountains where cold reigns supreme for most of a Turn, and summer is barely a memory before it descends again.
But what kind of place is this eerily abandoned weyr? Where have the people gone and who were they?
Back when Libertas Weyr was barely new, and just sevendays after it separated from Amaris, another group broke off from the parent weyr to find a new home. Their reasons for leaving Amaris were the same reasons as their predecessors. But instead of heading east, as Libertas had, they turned south and began the long journey to the Southern Mountains.
The surrounding landscapes were far removed from what they were used to. Snow covered, with giant evergreens growing as far as the eye could see, they scoured the area for a good location to start their new weyr. One of the dragons, trying to use the mountainside as a vantage point, crashed through an ice covered crevice and into a massive cavern. This cavern would later become Dragon Hall. Able to find the entrance not far away, the travelers soon began to excavate the caves, forcing out wild felines and others who had been using them as shelter, and making a new home for themselves.
At first, everything was going well and it looked like the weyr was surviving in their harsh new environment. But then, the disappearances started. The first few went unnoticed, with one or two people going missing here and there and the dragons and whers not making any sounds of distress. Anxiety began to spread and those living in the cavern weyr were worried that something strange and deadly was stalking its people.
And they were right.
The entire weyr was decimated in a matter of weeks, and those who were left were forced to flee their new home to places unknown. No one knows what has become of them, if they are alive or dead, or where they went. No signs were left, and the origin of the mysterious disappearances remained in obscurity.
Will Libertas be able to endure where the others could not? Can they face this unknown danger and succeed in staying alive? Or will their depleted numbers be their downfall?
Join us on this new journey of strength and survival in a world that is more unforgiving than it is benign.
