We're Taking the World By Storm

    Welcome to Ridge Weyr. You don't want to be here? Tough. We need candidates. That means you. What if you don't Impress? We won't be letting you go back if that's what you mean. You'll learn to love it here. The pirates'll gladly add you to their ranks if you work hard enough... and the Weyr always needs people. Trust me, it's not that bad.

Ridge Weyr. Founded for those who are outcasts to Pern - hunted down to be killed. Because they were considered abominations. Women on dragons. A man on a gold. New colors. Dragons sporting the ill-colored omen of the Red Star. Those that sired them. Those that loved them.

While the rest of Pern has been concerned with its petty wars - Weyr versus Weyr, Hold versus Hold, we have been able to build this place and create a treaty - however steady or not it may be - with the pirate captains and their Lord who rules the South. A new future to all of those who dare to join us is promised. Freedom, adventure, perhaps even some land.

The journey will not be easy. Already, many have lost their lives. But still, we work onward. To strike back against the world that hates us. To show that we are truly magnificent. We are the brave, the strong.
