We meet ourselves at every turn
In the long country of the past
There the fallen are up again
In mortality's second day,
There the indisputable dead
Rise in flesh more fine than clay

Death is not the end, and in a city crumbling under the weight of its own decay and disuse if you dig through the rubble you may find your second chance in life. After all, who hasn't wanted an opportunity to correct the wrongs of a once wasted life? Or a chance to do something worthwhile and meaningful? To regain a life that was cut all too short?

This is the place of hope and fear,
And faith that comes when hope is lost;
Defeat and victory both are here.
In this place where all’s to be.

Distant Shores is a pan-historical, post-death RP, where characters from all times and places from Earth's long history have found themselves awakening again after their deaths. French Revolutionaries, English gentry, Soviet spies, they must one and all work together to survive and thrive amongst the ruins of what was surely a once great city.

But of course, if you do happen to find yourself at the pointy end of a sword there might just be a third or fourth chance in the cards for you...
