Galadrieth knew that Jeneveth was going to fly to mate even before most of the Bronzes. She informed Karene when the Goldrider woke early that morning. The Weyrwoman had not had a break in a long time and the Junior Gold’s flight was the perfect excuse to get away. Karene didn’t take too long in bathing and dressing in more casual attire than her usual leathers.
Soon she wouldn’t be able to wear leathers anyway. Are you bringing Andris? The Queen asked from her ledge. I will if he has time to spare for a day trip. She answered while brushing out her long red hair. Keep it down, it looks pretty.
Karene smiled at the Queen and walkd over to her, scratching her above the eyeridges. Galadrieth practically purred under her rider’s loving touch. I hope Belisse will be okay. Karene spoke in a concerned tone to her dragon. She worried more for the hold-bred girls. They thought that they would be with one man forever, they were raised that this was the only way to be and then they get searched, impress a dragon and have that idea shattere. Jeneveth will choose well. She has always chosen well. The Queen reassured Karene and gave her a soft head but into her chest.
“I’ll be back darling. I need to track down that lover of mine.” Karene said as she made her way to the door of her weyr. It shouldn’t be too hard, she could usually find him in one of a few places. He wasn’t in the first couple places she searched for him at, so she finally found him in the Records room.
“There you are.” She said with a smile. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
