Karene, born the daughter of the Lord Holder of Southern Boll, has been Senior Weyrwoman for over ten Turns. She is known to be rather abrasive and stubborn when push comes to shove but she truly cares for the people whom she serves. Her main goal right now is to reopen Igen Weyr in order to better protect Pern from Threadfall when it comes. The Weyrwoman also supports Lord Rihan in his efforts against the Rebels where they have been interfering with the reopening of Igen.
