Ice Age: A Weyr Forgotten by Time

Ice Age is set in an alternate time line, a semi-canon 9th pass pern. Long ago when the colonists were first visiting the planet and they just started the work on dragons, a group were sentto explore the frigid polar ice caps. There, without positions to between back to, they were left and forgotten. In time they adapted, but with them so did their dragons.

Fast forward, and Prothe Weyr can no longer produce enough dragonkind or keep inbreeding from over populating their people. The Weyrleader sent himself between with a vague image in mind-and wonders of wonders, he managed to make it. He opened trade routes with Prothe and the rest of Pern, but on his return he died from an illness he contracted from the tropical weyrs, leaving a young an grief stricken second to take up the mantle of Weyrleader.

Will the pernese dragonriders take to the new Ice drakes, or will they rebel and destroy what's not proper, whats does not follow the rules?
