D'nierNot surprised to see a new face considering all of the family of newly impressed weyrlings presently enjoying the Weyr's hospitality, D'nier was surprised however, to realize that this was someone Karene had known previously. That is, when it came to his Weyrwoman's momentarily belated introductions.
The Weyrleader, as glad as ever to make a new acquaintance, was smiling and inclined his head toward
Anuleesa then.
"It is wonderful to make your acquaintance,
Anuleesa. I take it you have graced us with your presence due to there being someone you know having stood on the sands today?"
S'jiroIndylari was right. They needed to at least pay their respects; and yes, Z'rim, L'mar and Sh'nar would surely be waiting for them. S'jiro however, didn't have the same interest in implicitly impressing Goldriders like his best friend Sh'nar did. He was less interested in Weyrleadership, or the role of Weyrsecond still at this point, and had enough to think about with their recent betrothal.
S'jiro hadn't time to reply before his fiance stood close enough to kiss his cheek. The Bronzerider's cheeks grew warm when she did so, shooting her a look that held some measure of surprise, though not off-put by the sudden -if not minor- show in affection. Though, he figured he shouldn't push his luck asking for more than that again. All previous attempts to be close to her had led to her pushing him further away. At least this was progress. Sort of.
A kiss on the cheek still didn't fix their feelings toward one another -or lack thereof.
Oddly enough, seeing as how their feelings for one another never seemed to align just right, the Bronzerider found himself agreeing with her once again as she declared the importance of making their appearance for the sake of indulging said vanities. It wasn't just hers, but his own. She should know as well as anyone the extent of his own need to be noticed by others.
